Metaphor "I'm a bird that only flies away"

I choose this metaphor because it expresses what I feel right now and also because it’s a lyric of a song that I like. I think this metaphor describes me because that’s what I been doing these last days, “flying away from the bad circumstances, problems and negative feelings/thoughts” that made me felt out of sores. In my opinion I really like how my metaphor picture came out, it looks very nice and artistic, the tram of my picture was to make something little sad bad at the same time something that would make myself more mature and unique. I finished this photograph in one day, I don’t know how but I did it, it took me like two hours to finish it. I really like how the trees look because they look old and also because the trees made my picture look more realistic and strong. I decided to put some leafs falling off from the trees to made my picture more creative,some grass too so my picture can look full and not empty; I also decided to put some starts on the sky just to make my picture sweet. I believe that I have done a good picture, it has more creativity that my last photographs.

Shutter Post

We set the camera to a manual mode, so the camera can captures the lightning. It was super fun and easy to do, I really liked this idea with lights and all that. On the first picture it supposed to be the perfect and simple, but it didn't came out good as we thought, but it looks nice.On the second one I was supposed to be an angel, my friends made the wings with those crazy lights & with the last one, we were just playing with the lights.

ISO: film speed

ISO means a film requires more light to create a properly exposed latent image on film. In short, the higher the ISO setting, the noisier your photo will be but the advantage of that is you can shoot at faster shutter speed which will reduce the blur. You can see the differences between each picture, it gets lighter.

Fall in flash experiment

A fill flash picture is one in which the ambient light in the background such as sunlight,rom lighting etc. All the bright sunlight in the scene can fool the camera into thinking that not much flash is needed. When you have a subject that is primarily lit by sunlight, and you’re just trying to lighten a few shadows on his or her face, this automatic flash reduction tendency works very well. With the camera in exposure mode such as program, you just have to pop-up the built in flash by pressing the flash on button. The camera knows the flash has been activated, and all you need to do is focus and shoot the picture.

Metering

The meter reads the amount of light illuminating the subject, not light reflected from the subject, so the meter ignores the subject and background characteristics.On the first picture everything it's black and on the second picture it's super white,why? because we use light metering to create these to diferents photos. They are useful when there is a relatively small object within your scene which you either need to be perfectly exposed, or know that it will provide the closest match to middle gray.

Surrealism: "Finding Myslef"

It's about finding myself, knowing who have become & having on my mind what my goals are.
I used these hands to interpretate someone who saves me from hell.
I don't think this picture looks surreal, it just looks very weird and without sense.
what I like most about this picture is the background and the "planet mars" that I made.
The coulds are very silly,like the wings on my back.

Surreal Practice Tutorial

What I liked the most about this tutorial is the eye part and the combination that we did to interpreted the skin texture. It was pretty easy to do, and very entertaining at all. My eye is not to clearly at all but i like how it looks.

Graduation Program

What i like best about the graduation program was the way i edited the pegasus and the cirlce i placed on the back cover. Also, the balance between colors is equally important. Graphic design is something i enjoy but at the same time i finded difficult to do. The most important element when it comes to Graphic Design is for it to capture everyone attention.

Alternative Program: Student Handbook

I tried very hard to create a project that I am proud of. Although not much time was given to complete the project, I am pleased with my work. My background is what i like best about my handbook. It is creative and it is different than the rest of the designs created by my classmates. I really like the way i edited my pegasus. The hardest thing was to choose the colors for each font. The project i enjoy the most was the graduation project, because I dedicated more time to it to make it creative. A suggestion i have is to allow student have more time to create the projects.

Effects

I choose "Poster edges" because its a simple edition and it looks really nice. i like the colors that i am wearing, both are too different colors and it matches with the green thing. I like my position, because is more artistic! i think. i took this picture at the park obvously.

Frames

I prefer the second picture, because I think I show more emotion than the other. my picture is more artistic in the position I am. I liked the angle of the pictures. the colors made the picture would be even better. i do not like the firts photo i think i look too wierd! but I like the position of the frame. I think I miss editing levels!

Color

I did not have the necessary time to complete this picture! so I decided to make my color picture at home whit another program. I love this picture, I think I express a feeling of happiness! the colors I use are very extravagant as you can see... I also have a flower in my hands, but you can not see it very well.

Group collaboration

I really liked this picture is very creative & I like the position of each of us.

the shadows gives to the picture an artistic touch. This picture is about the evolution of human beings, something that seems very artistic. I believe this picture would look very cool if it were in black and white, I think there are a lot of space in front of the photo, but I still like it. it was easy to collaborate in the group.

Balance: Asymmetrical vs Symmetrical

symmetrical balance is the near or exact matching of left and right sides of a three dimensional form and asymmetrical balance is type of balance in which the two sides of an artwork are not exactly alike, but are still visually balanced. i think visual balance is importan because it contained a composition or a weight that varies according to their position, size and color clustering.

Artist Statement

In this portfolio, you will find a variety of photographs that I've taken this past semeste,also posts of each one of my photos and links of some of my classmates. As you can see the first pictures are not very artistic. I like almost all the photos that I have published, but I have some that I like the most, such is macro, leading lines (portfolio) and the last one, social issue. I could have achieved an improvement in other photographs but I am new to Photoshop and it was difficult for me editing photos.


In the clas of Digital Photo I learned a lot of things that helped me to improve my photography skills. At the beggining I was very confused, I was in blank and I didn't understand the teacher very well. To me, a lot of words sounded new or unsual.
I was introduced to Compositional Tricks. For example, Macro, Leading Lines, Extreme Angles,
Rule Of Thirds and Cropping.

During the semester we worked on a project called "Haunted Chavez". The objective of this project was to create a hauned scene out of one picture. It was very complicated
because i couldn't find a place to create a scene that could show terror. It took me time, but at the end I finished the job.
The project that i liked the most was called "Lyrics". It was very simple and easy for me. We had to decorate a photograph how ever we wanted and also to have a balance between colors and sizes of lyrics.

I need to improve my writing and my ability to work on Photoshop. These two things have me pressured. I made new friends in class, as much, but enough for me, because I'm too quite and I don't like to talk during class.

This lyrics make me feel good, because the words are strong enough to make me feel the rhythm it's a blue jazz that relaxed me it all! I admire this artist a lot because she only write songs about the reality. This song shows what she feel about that kid that she thought he was a man but he was not to mature yet to start a relationship, and that happened to me with a guy. Is a subliminal song but it’s very good at a same time.

Social Issue

This social issue that I choose is about eating disorder, it's a big problem that many young girls suffer in these days. It affects me because I know too many girls that live with this disorder, and it hurts too much to see them with that appearance. They are not to blame!! The media has hypnotized the girls with models and how they look. Even the smallest girls do it too. It's a problem that leads you to death. On this Photograph I wanted to show what anorexia and bulimia does.

She is my little cousin Briana and fortunately she is not suffering of eating disorder, but as close you can see she has the appearance of one of these girls. I choose her obviously because she is skinny and because I want to interpret that on these days "the little princess" are believing that they are too fat for their age and thats not true!

Haunted Chavez

The project was about to make our school like if it was haunted, and we were allow to choose a setting so i choose the restroom. this photograph it's about a girl who was in the restroom, but she didn't noticed that her school and also the restroom (as you can see on my photo) was haunted. I am a zombie with big wierd theets, without a leg and a arm and some blood on them,

and also with my eyes painted in green & black.

I put some ghost on it, to make my photo more interesting, i also put a black bird, these kinds of birds can never missed on projects,movies or things that has to be scary. my idea was to create something really artistic and very scary. I was having trouble with the brightness and constrast.

In my own opinion, my photo does not look too bad as i thought!

Critique: Parke Harrison's "Guardian"

He looks like he doesn't have enough time to do whatever he want, you can say that he decided to end his life as soon possible because he is tired about his entire life. Maybe he has too much problems that he can’t even resolve. He is wearing a black suit looking all nice and clean, his face looks scare like if he is passing a bad situation on his life, the picture guides me to a sad but at the same time to a world that has a lot of difficult things, the tree is old and big like the men that it’s standing up on the tree.
Such an emotional picture, that makes you feel like if you are in the picture passing through the same situations. The picture is really cleared, and artistic. I definitely love the way that the men it’s in the picture, because you can see all the emotion that he demonstrate.

Scary Expresions

I don't consider this foto the best one, but taking a guise at it takes me to cunfusion. it reminds me of my grandmothers house and my parent house in Mexico. there at my house i usually heard acward noises wich led me to insomnia.

It's funny the way that this picture leads me to lagh out loud instead of getting scared to death. i don't know, it was meant to be scary since my skin is like sand with rocks, and my eyes are black with a white pupil. Well it was all meant to give a emotioal reaction. this image was the one i work on and finished with no trouble.

When i see this foto, it makes me giggly. Although at the same time it brings me backto my facial look when I am angry. I loved how i could edit my photo to style I prefered to me this project was easy to use. Since we went step by step on this program. What i enjoyed the most was the details of the colors and bloodeffects in the image.

The Scream: My Interpretation

I think he is screaming because he had just an emotional moment, maybe he feel very scary or very tired about the things that are around him.
He looks like he can’t control his own life he is angry and he want to die. He don’t have nobody!

Creative Me

this project was to experiment with the tools we use in photoshop. adding color, texture, different levels of the program. was something very easy to do, because we choose how to create the image. In general, I think I miss a lot editacion, sometimes this is little complicated for me, but it doesn't look as bad as I thought!

Adjustment Layers

On this project we learn how to use Adjustment Layers, correctly.
they make a change this way to an image such as increasing the saturation or brightening it up, the pixels in their image get changed accordingly.

you can also do: contrast with simple and complex curves, and adjusting colour balance.

Self Portrait

For this project I took three photographs in black and white in wich I desmostrate emotions and the simple pose. the photographs had to be artistic and edited.

the techniques used are: exteme angles, rule of thirds and leading lines

I have enjoyed this project the most. I was able to make the picture the way i wanted and pose in front of the camera.in the leading lines photo I wanted to show an expression of freedom.

in the rule of thirds I sat on the street try to create the typical girl that always wait for her date.the extreme angles picure was taking at home. I was holding a base with several objects inside.

Compositional Trick #6: Contact Sheet

This project was very easy, and entertaining to do. we have to put six pictures that we have taken since we start the class. We were ables to decided the sizes and fonts for each one of the pictures. It only took me like 15 or 20 minutes to finish it.

Compositional Trick #5: Crop

The crop is made in photos that have too much space that is not necessary. In my picture, I cut the edges and sides, because they were not necessary and it looks better on this way.

Compositional Trick #4: Extreme Angles

Are used to make even more interesting photos, taking pictures from different angles, either from top to bottom or one side to the other.
In my photo, use the corner from top to bottom to make it more entertaining or striking.

Compositional Trick #3: Macro

In these two photographs, I use macro. can be seen in a more clearly with the object and the other in its texture.

Macro is used for small objects, in order to see them with more clarity and observe its texture.

I really like this picture! but I could had done more.

Compositional Trick #2: Leading Lines

Leadin lines leads us to approach faster, with only observe the image. My photograph leads to the bottom of it, through the line, you can quickly see the wall at the end of the line. On my opinion i do not like this picture, because it supposed to be black & withe, not gray.

Compositional Trick #1 Rule Of Thirds

The rule of third shows us the different positions of a picture and also it makes the picture more creativity. In this photograph i used the rule of thirds correctly, because i put the emphasis on the corner and catch the lights.
